Money Heist's plot
Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre, that’s the target of the biggest ever heist featured in this TV series in Spanish, originally broadcasted by Spanish network Antena 3. The National Coinage is better known as Royal Mint and where a mysterious man ‘The Professor’ has planned a series of multiple day assaults to take place: in his mind the plan is very clear.
With the help of 8 people who have nothing to lose but all to gain, he will attempt to enter the Royal Mint and print 2.4 billion euro. The first episode sees Tokyo, Rio, Berlin, Nairobi, Denver, Moscow, Oslo, and Helsinki invading the place and taking 67 hostages and police investigator Raquel Murillo is put on the case.
From her on, it will be a sequence of moves, of false steps at times and of trust between the fellow robbers while they try to keep it together during their epic actions.
Why you should or shouldn’t watch Money Heist
First off, if you are not a fan of original language TV series or movies you should really stay away. But wasn’t there a tiny notch of you liking Pablo Escobar’s lines (we mean the dialogue parts in Spanish)? The Original title of this TV series is in fact ‘’La Casa de Papel”, which literally translates in ‘The House of Paper, symbolising how modern society attachment to material things, to making money or saving money, is indeed our most vulnerable side.
One curios fact that you should know before watching Money Heist is that actors received their scripts as the episode were shot, which means they did not know what would have been the destiny of their character: it is surely build-up of excitement that is reflected in their performances.
The version Netflix is broadcasting has been slightly modified from the original version since rights were acquired at the end of 2017. You just have to wait and see if the upcoming 2019 season will be anything like the first two as it will be the first entirely created by Netflix.
