Are a you pop music addict? Then you have landed on the right page. We have gathered up all there is to know about rising star Hayley Kiyoko. Acting, singing and comic book creator, the 27 year old L.A. born singer has been going a long way up the charts since her debut studio album ‘Expectations’.

It all started back with Vitamin-C  asking her to join a girl band. They were called The Stunners, but their ‘effects’ didn’t last long.

Allie Gonino, Tinashe, Kelsey Sanders and Kyoko signed with Universal Records and came out with a first single called Dancin Around the Truth , featuring New Boyz: the group had the opening act gig on Justin Bieber My World Tour. In 2011, it all came down to the girls ‘splitting up’.

During those years in which Hayley Kiyoko’s career was taking off in the group, she also managed to act in a big movies: she was Velma Dinkley in Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins.

But it wasn’t up until later on she became a teen icon, somebody who really meant something else in the music scene. After she became open about her homosexuality, her role in the music industry became so clear: she took that on board and starting expressing her feelings in trying to inspire her fans in doing so.

If you see two girls falling in love and normalizing that, then [people] can go, ‘I can fall in love, too. I can be that person. I can look like that. I can get a girl that looks like that.’ If they see that, then they can believe it. It’s just how we are

It was for songs like ‘Girls like Girls’ that her image as an advocate for LGBT rights started to shape up. Since the release of the album Expectations she’s been getting big gigs and collaborations have started to flow in.

In May 2018 she released the video for the song ‘What I Need’, a project that featured Kehlani.

What more can celebrate a year of success than winning the award for Push Artist of the Year at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards? Probably performing her song on Curious on stage.

As a gay emerging artist Hayley Kiyoko has developed her own lyrics and musical style as well as an original sense of style. Her creativity and desire of expressing herself had always been nurtured by her family: Kyoko’s dad was an actor and a comedian, while her mother a choreographer and skater (she recently worked on the movie I, Tonya).

Her ‘I’m not high it’s just my face’ face on Instagram is the right attitude to accompany laid back but full of energy outfits in a blend of streetwear and sporty looks.  Her Expectations Tour will be concluding in November 2018 in Iceland.
