Sneaking through Milan Fashion Week 2019

26.09.2018 | By ELENA LONGARI

Milan Fashion Week has earned itself the title of XXL, not only for super long schedule, as it is lasting almost a full week, but also for the scale of entertainment class quality most of the shows hit. It is concluding shortly and we have been sneaking through the shows, getting stumped on during  outside of the show scrums and putting our eagle eye on for some dope celebrity spotting.

The show in the show.

Where to start from: Philipp Plein recruiting Chris Brown to perform on stage. Oh, we should call it runway. Rappers of the like of Lacrim and Tekashi 6ix9ine made Philipp Plein’s party as usual the one to attend.

Emporio Armani welcomed another kind of music icon: British pop singer Robbie Williams cued in at Milan Fashion Week SS19 with the line ‘I’m Robbie Fucking Williams’. And in his pleated glittery kilt (some have called it skirt, we mean, seriously??) owned the show’s front rowers with Let me entertain you, She’s the one and Angel.

Rap queen Nicki Minaj’s Milan Fashion Week story was nothing we could have anticipated. She avoided confrontation with Cardi B – who was also in Milan during fashion week – and dropped a showstopper outfit (by Versace) at Versace’s front row sitting next to Rita Ora: the ‘fashion duo’ wore matching yellow and blue plaid, but don’t ask us to name the pieces making up their outfits.

Enjoying fashion as well as being here to introduce talks during Theaster Gates’s Milan Fashion Week SS19 The Black Image Corporation exhibition, the one and only Spike Lee. He made Prada’s the coolest front row, didn’t he?

The list of celebs and the madness that went on during the shows goes on, we have thrown on our Fashion Week Proof Dondup’s sneakers and ventured through the whole of it.

Celebrity spotting AF.

Ferragni (or Ferragnez) aside, it wasn’t hard to spot other showbiz celebs and some crazy shit looks. But who said Milan Fashion Week statement was about GDCS’s three boobed models?

Here are some of the best streetstyle moments, from vinyl hats, to chunky socks and trainers, black head to toe streetwear and blue lipstick. Start swiping here.
