The best steestyle outfits spotted @NYFW 2018

14.09.2018

NYFW 2018 has seen many things going down, on and off the catwalk, including the most shocking cat fight between rappers Cardi B and Nicki Minaj. We’ll have a look at the best ‘scenes’ from NYFW2018 amongst the best streetstyle looks and celebrities looks for the shows.

But first. These two. One of them, Cardi B, was seen with a bruise over her left eye after she was escorted out of Harper’s Bazaar event. She apparently threw one of her red D&G shoes at ‘colleague’ Nicki Minaj. On Instgram Cardi B explained why she did what she did in this post, whether Nicki Minaj returned the favour on her Queen Radio show several days after the altercation.

Catfights aside, Cardi B was only sitting front row at Tom Ford’s show, next to Henry Golding, star of Crazy Rich Asians and Queen of fashion Anna Wintour and funny enough, next to the nicest guy on earth, actor Tom Hanks. A sleek asymmetrical black dress was her ‘sophistication’ statement – while it lasted for those moments watching the models going down the runway.

If we have had a look at one, the other is a whole different story, at least in this PVC look. Nicki Minaj wore a staggering yellow jacket (and gloves) at the opening ceremony of NYFW2018, showing off her perfect blonde bob with rainbow locks.

We have talked about how to wear PVC with some ‘everyday’ outfits here, but if you are looking for more inspo – other than Niki’s outfit – this see through PVC shirt worn over a metallic texture bikini is ever so cute. Bring it all together with see through hoops and you are going to have major fashion moment too.

For those who didn’t feel like embracing New York’s tickling rain, fashion came at the rescue with some fresh and vibrant prints, such as the one worn by fashion blogger Aimee Song in this uniquely designed mini dress – which is perfect for any mid-season weather indecision.

Formal pieces have been transformed into urban fashion goals in these streetstyle outfits from NYFW2018: an oversized neutral colour blazer is worn on a super cropped top, an elongated suit jacket and pants in red are sported with white trainers and yellow palazzo pants are matched with a white knotted shirt.

Remember when we announced over the knee boots as being the next big thing after ankle boots? Well, if we could have, we would have used this streetstyle snap from NYFW to explain it better. The match is with mini skirts for both kinds of footwear and an injection of bold colours – tartan and stripes.

For those urban loyal, there’s nothing more city look than a head to toe black outfit thought to create a ‘stand out’ effect thanks to some simple yet effective details: the overlaying of thin necklaces, the coordinate black fanny pack and the subtle injection of colour in the jacket sleeve hems.

Bride to be Hailey Baldwin appeared next to her future husband (whose look is just too freakishly scruffy outfit to be considered intentional) walked at John Elliott show held at Pier 62 Skatepark in her signature ‘denim shorts and top’ look, matched with an oversized sheer fabric jacket in black. Also with them LeBron James in a total denim outfit to remember, mixing stripes and dyed fabrics.

We saved the best for last: model, fashion icon and simply ‘her’, Miss Moss, leaving Longchamp show in this outstanding fringed and lace outfit in black. In 2018, still our major source of style inspiration, still rocking it, you go Kate!
