The Laws’ of attraction: meet Jude and Iris Law

16.12.2018 | By ELENA LONGARI

Britishness, beauty, talent: the law of the Laws is simple, yet not one everyone can abide by it. Meet acclaimed actor Jude Law and daughter Iris Law.

Hey, Jude!

He’s been the Young Pope, he will be ‘someone’ in Captain Marvel upcoming movie, he’s in Vox Lux next to Natalie Portman: Jude Law has been making cinema history with his undisputed angelic looks, his talent and a good dose of intriguing charms.

Jude's Law

It’s that charm that a dear friend of mine bumped into in the lift of the Tate Modern Gallery in London – call that awkward lift conversation! –  she almost fainted, next to his mother. Jude Law is James Dean, Daniel Craig and Leonardo DiCaprio all-in-one, no wonder he has been featuring in a wide spectrum of movies: from his role in The Talented Mr Ripley (1999) to the rom-com The Holiday (2006) and Guy Ritchie’s two instalments of Sherlock Holmes next to Robert Downey Jr. The list of box office hits proves the versatility of the 45-year-old actor is endless.

Iris Law

Born from Sadie Frost, daughter Iris Law has already been setting pieces in the Law’s family. But first a bit of trivia: call it karma or destiny, don’t you find it funny how Jude Law was named Jude after the iconic song by The Beatles ‘Hey Jude’ and then he in real life he went on to met and later married the daughter of David Vaughan, the psychedelic music artist who worked with Beatles?. There’s a suspicious thread running in the Law’s family, shall we be cheesy and name it the Laws’ of attraction?

Law and Frost got divorced in 2003.

Beauty Law

She’s 18 years of age and had her first editorial when she was 2 years old in Vogue, when she appeared next to her brother and her parents. But it was 2015 (yes, she was 15!) when she debuted as a model for MiuMiu in the Resort 2017 collection. Burberry Beauty have made her their ambassador as well as being the face of the Essentials range by the British heritage brand.

What’s Iris Law’s law of attraction?

First off, her looks are as stunning and angelic as her father’s, showcasing another great sample of arched heart-shapep lips:  it’s no wonder she’s been going for beauty and not catwalk modelling – her height of 1.63 might have played a part in this too. Her godmother is Kate Moss and in fact she’s often seen teen-partying with her daughter Lili Grace, but neither of them are going for the anti-supermodel style as the iconic fashion emblem did in her age – read more about Lili Grace Moss here.

Natural looks

We wouldn’t call it a minimalist approach to beauty but better a reasonable approach to makeup fit for an 18 year-old: no need of extenuating beauty routines and arrays of concealers, highlighters and blushes. Iris Law’s makeup routine seems to be made of easy steps as lip balm and mascara, because should you have no other products with you, you can use the lip balm as a blush and eyeshadow too. Hers is a blissful law of simple and natural beauty, no tricks!

What’s next for her? For now we leave her in awe of London Town while she ‘is sat thinking on the tube or the bus’.
